About

My passion is your growth and success
and my focus is your wealth and wellbeing.

Hi, I'm Ky —

I am a foodie, founder, writer, speaker, coach, podcaster, investor, wife, mother, Gigi, yogi and the person who will change your life, if you let me!

Isn't it ironic that when you look back everything makes sense, even though most of your life feels like a cascade of unknowns.

When I was 11 years old, I was separated from my single mother and my sister and ten years would pass before I saw my mother again.  It was the 1970's and an impossible time to be a single mother with women earning $.60 to a every man's $1.

The loss of my mother created a deep empathy for the hardships working women face when caretaking and providing, while often feeling like a failure to yourself  and your family.
Finding work that supports your well-being and provides for your family can be one of the most challenging paths for women and it has certainly been a journey for me too.

My first job was cleaning my great-grandmother's house on Saturday mornings for $2/hour to help my mom feed me and my sister. Thank God for Snicker bars!

I discovered the joy of earning my own money and from there mowed lawns, pet sat, cleaned houses, babysat, landscaped, baled hay, and finally got a waitress job and bought my first car.

Isn't  it ironic...

Earning my own money made me feel independent and powerful…

Earning my own money made me feel independent and powerful. It gave me choices and put me in control of my life. I also felt capable and confident. However, even back then I gave away A LOT of my money and prioritized the needs of others over my own.

I really wanted to save more and be more "selfish", but I also wanted to help others. When I look back I see my shame, confusion and desperate need for approval.  I needed the  support that  I now give to myself and others.

I continued to work my way through college, minimizing my student loan debt, and even met my husband at work. Earning money and caring for others have been the two constants in my life.

As a serial entrepreneur, I've opened a school, an bath salt business, and a coaching practice.  I also worked in higher education, to provide a steady income for my family.

My path unfolded...

philosophy

We believe growth is simply the willingness to connect more deeply.

My greatest success happened when I realized that I needed sales skills to be a successful entrepreneur and took a role as a Recruiting Manager at a global staffing firm. I loved this job and eight years later I was a VP leading strategic initiatives for a $400M  business unit.

In that role, I learned to performance coach, career coach, and leadership coach while training and facilitating large groups. I earned multiple six figures, completely upset the roles in my marriage, and learned how to invest and sell. This experience was game-changing and life-changing.
However, behind this success, I was also struggling with a terminal sense of not being worthy, balancing the needs of my family, and dealing with the fallout of generational trauma while trying to stay healthy and sane.

Running at full speed, I faced two significant health issues and all of this required a Herculean effort to overcome while continuing to work. My coping was to shut down and hyper-focus on the tasks needed to move myself and our family forward. This way of being was incredibly self-sacrificing and definitely not sustainable.

Then my greatest success happened...

You should know

Through all of this, my empathy for working women and primary earners continued to grow. It fueled my leadership and how we responded to the people we served. Women seemed to suffer from feeling not worthy at an epidemic level.  At every level, they struggled to own their success.  They also struggled to maintain their own health and well being while managing others' endless needs. This collective suffering fueled me and drove me to train as many people as possible on positively impacting people's lives with opportunity and service leadership.

Then everything changed…

Then everything changed! I realized I had outgrown my corporate career and needed the freedom to take my mission into the world. However, I had no idea how to do that!

I couldn't name what I wanted, I could only sense it. I saw myself speaking, leading, writing, and coaching, however, I had no context of how this would happen. What was my role, was I a speaker, coach or the owner of a business? How could I leave my job and step into nothing? It just didn't seem possible.

I had been coaching for years when I decided to invest in myself and enroll in a  wellness coaching certification from MindValley. Once completed, I then enrolled in Claire Zammit's Platinum Coaching Certification Program, using the Women Centered Coaching method.

I  found this program to be deeply connected to the transformation that I needed to feel worthy of my success and break through my own inner glass ceilings. The methodology was highly effective and gave me the tools I needed to root out my own limitations while supporting other women to do the same.

Miraculously, a year after starting the program, I left my corporate role and had a budding coaching practice, Six months after that, I am investing in female entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.

If someone had told me that I would take the best pieces of who I am and then serve others to empower the best pieces of who they are, I NEVER would have believed that was possible. It seems like a fairy tale and my life has been anything but a fairytale!

The best part of this story is that my three daughters are also finding their paths to empowerment and freedom AND by the grace of God and our deep commitment and love for one another, my 30+ year marriage has grown too!

Today I love serving female entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow personally and professionally. Together we find a path to their fairytale lives too.
